From the NIV:
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
There are seasons in life when the mountain we are climbing becomes so foggy that we can barely see what lies ahead. The path becomes uncertain, and we begin to question whether we are heading in the right direction.
But just because the mountain is covered with fog does not mean God has abandoned the journey.
When God called Abraham to leave his country, He did not provide a complete map, only His promise (Genesis 12:1). Abraham obeyed because he trusted the One who called him.
Just as a compass guides a climber through the fog, God’s Word serves as the lamp for our feet and the light for our path. The compass symbolizes His guidance as we climb by faith, not by sight. It does not remove the fog, but it helps us maintain our direction.
Perhaps you are facing grief, financial hardship, broken relationships, illness, or uncertainty about your future. Remember, God guided the Israelites through the wilderness with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night (Exodus 13:21-22). They could not see the entire journey, but they could follow His leading.
Do not confuse the absence of visibility with the absence of God’s presence.
My dear friends, when the path becomes unclear, pray, listen, and trust His direction. Move when He leads, rest when necessary, and wait when wisdom requires patience.
The fog may hide the mountaintop from your sight, but it cannot hide you from God.
Something to Ponder! 🤔
Are you trusting God’s guidance, or allowing uncertainty to determine your direction?
Remember: Faith does not require a clear view of the destination, but confidence in the God who knows the way.
