BUSYBODY OR REALLY BUSY?

From the NIV Bible:

We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.
(2 Thessalonians 3:11)

It is possible to have a full schedule and still neglect what God has placed in our hands. We can spend hours discussing someone else’s choices, investigating their business, or offering opinions nobody requested, while our own responsibilities remain unfinished. Activity does not always mean productivity.

Paul’s words invite us to examine the purpose behind our busyness. Are we working faithfully, caring for our families, serving others, and making time for God? Or are we filling our days with distractions that keep us involved in everyone’s life except the one God has entrusted to us?

There is a difference between loving concern and unnecessary interference. Love listens, prays, respects boundaries, and offers help with humility. A busybody seeks details without a willingness to serve, spreads information without permission, and confuses being informed with being called to intervene.

Today, ask God to redirect your attention toward what He has given you to do. Sometimes obedience means putting down the phone, leaving a conversation, completing an unfinished task, or quietly praying instead of commenting. A fruitful life begins with faithful attention to God’s assignments.

Something to Ponder! 🤔

Am I busy doing what God has entrusted to me, or busy involving myself in matters He has not assigned to me?
