TURBULENCE IN THE AIR
From the NIV Bible:
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
(Psalm 56:3)
Before the plane lifts off, the flight attendants stand in the aisle and show us what to do to stay safe, including keeping our seat belts fastened when the air gets rough. It’s easy to tune out a briefing we’ve heard many times, but it deserves our full attention. Just as the crew gives us safety instructions before takeoff, God gives us His Word to prepare us for life’s turbulence. We must pay attention to what Scripture teaches and put it into practice before trouble comes.
One phone call or an unexpected loss can leave us feeling unsteady. In those moments, David’s words give us a way to respond. We can tell God exactly what we’re afraid of and place our trust in Him, even when we don’t know what will happen next.
You may still feel the shaking after you pray. God is with you in those unsettled moments, too. You can pray right where you are. “Lord, I’m scared. Help me trust You and take the next step.”
Something to Ponder! 🤔
What truth from God’s Word can you put into practice today so you can draw on it when life gets turbulent?
