From the NIV Bible:
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.” (2 Corinthians 4:8)
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
There are moments when life makes us feel defeated. A door closes. A relationship breaks. A prayer seems unanswered. People misunderstand us. Something we worked hard for falls apart.
From our earthly perspective, it can look like we lost.
But earth’s verdict is not Heaven’s verdict.
What feels like defeat may actually be God redirecting, refining, protecting, or preparing us. The cross looked like defeat on Friday, but the resurrection revealed the victory.
So when life knocks us down, we must not measure our position by what we see around us. Look up. Heaven may be telling a completely different story.

Am I calling something a defeat that God may still be using for His glory?
